My experience has taught me that it is not so.<\/p>\n<p>A work begins much earlier. It begins in a silence, in a memory, in a light glimpsed for a single instant. Sometimes it is born from a door left ajar, from a chair left empty, from a wall worn by time or from a corner of the sea observed hundreds of times without realising that it held a story.<\/p>\n<p>The artist does not invent the world. He learns to look at it with greater attention.<\/p>\n<p>Every image I make is the result of a wait. I do not seek spectacular effects. I seek that invisible presence that continues to inhabit places even when people are no longer there.<\/p>\n<p>It is from this research that my idea of Restanza was born: what remains when everything seems to have ended. It is not nostalgia. It is memory that continues to live in space.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to invite the reader to do a small exercise. Stop for a few minutes before a place you know well. Do not be in a hurry. Look at the light, the shadows, the marks of time. Ask yourself which lives have passed through there and which emotions that place still preserves.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you will discover that every space tells a story. A volte nasce da una porta socchiusa, da una sedia rimasta vuota, da un muro consumato dal tempo o da un angolo di mare osservato centinaia di volte senza accorgersi che custodiva una storia.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;artista non inventa il mondo. Impara a guardarlo con maggiore attenzione.<\/p>\n<p>Ogni immagine che realizzo \u00e8 il risultato di un&#8217;attesa. Non cerco effetti spettacolari. Cerco quella presenza invisibile che continua ad abitare i luoghi anche quando le persone non ci sono pi\u00f9.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c8 da questa ricerca che \u00e8 nata la mia idea di Restanza: ci\u00f2 che rimane quando tutto sembra essere finito. Non \u00e8 nostalgia. \u00c8 memoria che continua a vivere nello spazio.<\/p>\n<p>Vorrei invitare chi legge a fare un piccolo esercizio. Fermatevi per qualche minuto davanti a un luogo che conoscete bene. Non abbiate fretta. Guardate la luce, le ombre, i segni del tempo. Chiedetevi quali vite siano passate da l\u00ec e quali emozioni quel luogo conservi ancora.<\/p>\n<p>Forse scoprirete che ogni spazio racconta una storia.
